Leave the main road behind
The Blackwood Arms sits down a quiet lane in Littleworth Common, on the edge of Burnham Beeches - ancient beech woodland in south Buckinghamshire, and a National Nature Reserve.
Unplug from the world in our gardens with a crisp beer or a chilled glass of wine, or enjoy the cosy ambiance inside during the winter months with a roaring log fire to set the mood.

The regulars know the drill - arrive, charm everyone in the bar and patiently wait for a treat. Whether they're fresh from Burnham Beeches or just here for the biscuits - muddy paws, wagging tails and well-behaved owners are all welcome.

Our chef is gluten intolerant himself, so it isn't an afterthought. There are gluten-free option across most of the menu, Sunday roasts included.

The best table in the house is outside
Lawns and picnic benches under an old apple tree, a covered terrace strung with bunting for when the weather can't make its mind up, and flower beds that somebody clearly cares about.
On a warm Sunday it's the reason people drive out here. Come early.
Traditional pub comfort
Tartan armchairs, scrubbed oak tables, low lamp light, and a log burner that earns its keep on a cold afternoon.
The Brakspear sign above the corner booth has hung there for decades. Some things are better left exactly as they are.
Choices for everyone
Pub classics, seasonal chef's specials and Sunday roasts, made with locally-sourced ingredients wherever we can get them. Gluten free? We have a huge amount of gluten free options from fish and chips, Bangers and mash and even beef and ale pie to mention but a few as well as vegetarian options throughout.
Behind the bar: real ales alongside guest specials from breweries around the country, a varied wine list, and somewhere around twenty gins at any one time. For those who prefer we also stock a large range of Zero alcohol products including Guiness zero, Estrella zero on draught. with a selection of zero gins and bottled lagers
Our kitchen is closed on Mondays, except Bank Holiday Mondays, when we serve from 12 till 5.

Light lunches, nibbles, starters and mains, prepared by our chef using whatever's good and in season. Most dishes are gluten free or can be adapted. Puddings, sides and daily specials too.

Served every Sunday from 12 till 5. Traditional roasts alongside lighter lunches and nibbles, with vegetarian options too.
It's the busiest day of the week. Worth ringing ahead.
The Pub in the woods
Burnham Beeches is ancient beech woodland - pollards that have stood for centuries - with miles of footpaths and bridleways running through it. Beautifull walking country, and good cycling too.
Come back muddy. We don't mind.

Somewhere to mark the occasion
We host weddings and receptions, vow renewals, christenings and birthdays, wakes and memorials. The whole pub can be taken exclusively if you'd rather have the place to yourselves.
Catering starts at £17 a head, and we'll put together something that suits. Tell us what you have in mind.
